I'm Emma and I'm a research assistant at the University of Oxford, and I am currently working with Dr Jiedi Lei on a project with a focus on Understanding Strengths-Based Approaches in Supporting Autistic Children and Young People (CYP). I am currently exploring ways of assessing and incorporating character strengths to adopt a strength-based approach when supporting autistic CYP and their families in mental health settings and beyond. Prior to this role, I was working clinically as an assistant psychologist in the NHS supporting children and young people with a diagnosis of autism and/ or intellectual disability who were at risk of a CAMHS inpatient admission. I completed my master’s degree at Durham University where I underwent a research project exploring social behaviour and vulnerabilities in neurodiverse individuals. In summary, my research and clinical interests currently lie within the field of neurodiversity
