We are interested in understanding the cognitive basis of common mental health difficulties and using this understanding to develop and implement effective interventions. A twin focus is on improving our understanding of the persistence of these difficulties in neurodivergent children and young people in order to develop better treatments, with a particular focus on strengths-based approaches.
Specifically, we are interested in examining:

Cognitive and behavioural mechanisms of anxiety problems in young people

How these vary across development and neurodivergence

How these interact with the environment, such as peer and family settings

How to harness this knowledge to develop effective and accessible interventions

How to implement interventions into services
